We’ve been waiting to know when we’d get to take flight with Captain Marvel again, and now Marvel hasn’t just announced the return of Carol Danvers, but also an exciting new addition to the cast!
Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel 2 on November 11, 2022! The film will be directed by Nia DaCosta, late of Candyman and Little Woods. But that’s not all—Carol’s going to be joined by Ms. Marvel, played by newcomer Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau! (And hopefully Goose, but no word on that yet. That cat must be slightly immortal, right?)
And as if all of that wasn’t enough, we also got the first look at Iman Vellani in Ms. Marvel! Bisha K. Ali serves as head writer on the Disney+ series, which will feature entries directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon. The series will premiere ahead of Captain Marvel 2, in late 2021. What does this mean for the Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel co-star credit? Who can say! But it is an exciting time for members of the Carol Corps, and anyone who has had the good fortune to pick up an issue of Ms. Marvel.
